Proud of our nurses and midwives at the RUH

Nurses and midwives are being celebrated at the Royal United Hospital in Bath today (Tuesday 12 May) to mark two international days which honour both the midwifery and nursing professions.

As part of the day of celebrations, the Trust's nurses and midwives are being asked to tell us why they are proud of their profession by posting comments on a special 'Proud to be a Nurse' wall at the hospital. Patients on the children's ward at the RUH will also be invited to join in the fun by drawing and colouring their own nurse pictures.

Helen said: "We are asking people to nominate a nurse or midwife – someone who has made your time here at the RUH that bit brighter. You do not need to know the name of the nurse in order to nominate – you can simply mention the ward or department in which you received your care; after all, nursing is a real team effort.

"We think our nurses and midwives do an amazing job, and we know – from the countless letters we receive each year praising our nurses and midwives for their care – that you do too."
