GB Hockey Gold Medallist visits patients at RUH

LOLS10在线直播下注 Patients and staff at the Royal United Hospital, Bath were thrilled to meet GB gold medallist, Laura Unsworth who visited the Children's Ward yesterday.

Laura, who recently returned from the Rio Olympics, won gold with the Team GB women's hockey team.

She arrived at the RUH in her GB kit with her gold medal and received a warm greeting from the children, parents and staff. The children made their own hand-made gold medals and the Children's playroom was decorated with GB bunting to welcome her to the ward. Laura Unsworth said:

"It's been fun meeting and having photos with the children and their patients. They loved holding and trying my medal on. Everyone has been so lovely, congratulating me and the team. It was such a lovely surprise to see that the children had made their own medals and the staff were great fun too."

Mel Gittons, Senior Sister on the Children's Ward said:

Laura's visit was organised by her elder sister, Rebecca Unsworth, a Paediatric Doctor who works for the Trust. Rebecca commented:

"It's been really nice to have Laura come here. We were all following the team's progress during the Olympics. I managed to move my shifts to fly out to Rio to watch her play in the final match. I wouldn't have missed it for the world."
